I’m Alli founder of The Little Black Goat;

I grew up in the city—far from the life I’ve built today.

I took a leap into animal rescue with nothing but basic knowledge of farm animals and a deep desire to help. The path has been filled with both setbacks and growth, but it’s been worth every moment.

The Little Black Goat Farm Sanctuary was built from a deep love for animals, slow living, and the belief that every life deserves safety, compassion, and a chance to simply exist peacefully.

What started as a small helping hand grew organically into a sanctuary filled with rescued farm animals, second chances, muddy boots, early mornings, and the kind of connection to animals that changes you forever.

The West Lincoln countryside of Ontario, our sanctuary is home to goats, sheep, pigs, horse, cow, chickens, duck, dogs, cat, and many animals who came from situations of neglect, uncertainty, or simply needing somewhere safe to land. Here, they are not viewed for production or purpose — they are individuals, each with their own personalities, stories, and place within our little sanctuary family.

Life here is beautifully imperfect. It’s hay in your hair, fixing fences in the rain, community yoga nights at sunset, children learning compassion through connection, and animals finally learning what it means to feel safe.

Our mission is simple: to provide lifelong sanctuary, advocate for kindness, and create a space where humans and animals can reconnect in a more compassionate and grounded way.

Thank you for being here and supporting this journey with us. Truly.

Our Sanctuary is named in loving memory of Elliott, our cherished Pygmy goat whose playful spirit forever inspires us.
