Cosmo’s story begins at a conservation area in Ontario, where he spent his earliest days being used as a photo prop for visitors. As a rare heritage-breed lamb, he drew crowds and camera flashes all summer long. But when tourist season ended, Cosmo and the flock faced a heartbreaking fate: they were to be discarded and sent to market.
Thankfully, a compassionate young woman working at the establishment refused to let their story end there. She stepped in, fought for their safety, and reached out for help. Of the 20 sheep, only four could be saved that day. Two went to another sanctuary — and Cosmo arrived here alongside his brother, Shepp.
From the moment he arrived, Cosmo’s gentle spirit was obvious. Curious, affectionate, and always close by his brother’s side, he’s quickly become a favourite among visitors and volunteers. Today he spends his days grazing peacefully, napping in the sun, and finally living the safe, loved life he always deserved.
