Dove came to The Little Black Goat Farm Sanctuary with her sister, Darby. The girls were simply looking for a soft place to land before they were set to be culled along with the other chickens.
Around the same time, our rooster Butters had lost his hens and was in need of some new companions. It felt like the perfect fit, and we were more than happy to welcome Dove and Darby into our sanctuary family. ❤️
Now, Dove gets to spend her days doing what chickens naturally love to do—free-ranging, scratching in the dirt, dust bathing, soaking up the sunshine, and exploring alongside her flock.
There are no expectations of Dove here. She simply gets to be a chicken and live out her natural life, safe and loved, at The Little Black Goat. 🐔🌿
